This was a challenging site with a brief for a high square footage due to viability issues.
The site was brownfield and severely constrained by a number of easements relating to underground 33kv cables as well as a fixed access road. These constraints dictated the form of the layout and through careful design they were overcome to achieve an eventual 58 dwellings per hectare. The site achieved Secured By Design accreditation.
RDC designed a range of housetypes for the site which were required to be Lifetime Homes and HQI compliant. Following grant of planning consent RDC produced the working drawing package.
